I've been thinking a lot about worship lately. Its more than showing up at church and singing a few songs.
Worship is simply placing my heart and mind solely on God, His character, attributes, and truth. Each day holds limitless opportunities for me to give worship to God. Its an attitude that can be cultivated through discipline. It is my daily offering to my King. The world tells me to worship all kinds of things but which will I choose? Which will you choose?
I can worship God when I load the dishwasher (that which I don't like to do!), when I fold clothes, as I drive down the street and view creation around me. I can lead my child to worship God as we ride down the street and talk about all the wonderful things God has made for us. As I buy groceries, I can think about His attributes while I am waiting in line. There are limitless opportunities to worship God.
Here are a few verses about worship from Psalms.
Psalm 100:2
"Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs."
Psalm 29:2
"Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness."
Psalm 95:6
"Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker;..."
How can you make time to worship God today?
