Believing in an Unbelieving World
Dr. Al Mohler asked this question tonight when he spoke at our church.
His topic was "Believing in an Unbelieving World." His text was Romans 11:33-36, 12:1-2.
Romans 12:1-2 says
"I appeal to you therefore, brothers,by the mercies of God,to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."
Mohler stated christians have to be,"intentional in knowing we have to think and act different. The great scandal to the cross is that the gospel is conformed."
"Before we act, the first act is to think and the word is the means to how believers learn how Christ thinks, acts," Mohler said.
Mohler ended his sermon saying,"if we aren't careful we will pick up the world's thoughts, emotions, economics, education, sports, merchandising, beauty. We need to be hoping, praying, thinking and living the word of God."
